Georgia
Georgia (საქართველო sakartvelo), country of Transcaucasia located at the eastern end of the Black Sea on the southern flanks of the main crest of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. It is bounded on the north and northeast by Russia, on the east and southeast by Azerbaijan, on the south by Armenia and Turkey, and on the west by the Black Sea. Georgia includes three ethnic enclaves: Abkhazia, in the northwest (principal city Sokhumi); Ajaria, in the southwest (principal city Batʿumi); and Samachablo, in the north (principal city Tskhinvali). The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi (Tiflis).
Georgian Wine
The whole country produces wine, and the particular grape varietals all have their specific micro-zones scattered across the national territory. However, the most well-known region for producing Georgian wine is Kakheti, divided into the two micro-regions of Kvareli and Telavi. Then comes Imereti, Kartli, Svaneti, Adjara, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, and Abkhazia. The traditional winemaking method Georgia uses calls for egg-shaped clay jars called qvevri. This technique caught the eye of UNESCO, which has listed it as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Famouse Georgian Wines:
- Tsinandali is a white wine made from a combination of Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane grapes from the micro-zones of Kvareli and Telavi in the Kakheti region.
- Tvishi is a naturally semi-sweet white wine made from the Tsolikauri grape.
- Mukuzani, a dry red wine made from only Saperavi grapes grown in Mukuzani and Kakheti, is matured for three years in oak to give it flavor and complexity. It is one of the best dry red wines made from Saperavi.
- Kindzmarauli is a high-quality naturally semi-sweet wine with a dark red color and is made from Saperavi grapes grown on the slopes of the Caucasian mountains in the Kvareli district, in the Kakheti region.
- Khvanchkara, a high-end, naturally semi-sweet red wine is the blend of Mudzhuretuli and Alexandria grape varietals grown in the Khvanchkara vineyards in Racha. The wine has well-balanced tannins with a raspberry flavor. This dark ruby color wine is one of the most famous Georgian semi-sweet wines.
Georgian National Cuisine
Kharcho is a very thick, hearty soup, thickened by rice and chopped nuts. Georgians use many herbs and spices to enhance the flavor - real kharcho must be really hot and spicy.
Khinkali is a Georgian dumpling, which originated in the Georgian mountain regions of Pshavi, Tusheti, Mtiuleti and Khevsureti.
Lobio - is a traditional Georgian dish of various kinds of prepared beans, containing coriander, walnuts, garlic and onion. There are many varieties of lobio, both hot and cold.
Khachapuri - an open cheese pie, is one of Georgia’s more creative bread dishes.

Gomismta is a mountainous summer resort in Guria, where sea and mountain weather merges together, and has natural curing effect. It is 2100-2755 meters from the sea level.
Tobavarchkhili (Silver Lake) is located in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti on Egrisi range at 2650 MSL. Tobavarchkhili is the biggest lake from the lakes on the Egrisi range. The lake is the source of the river Magana, which creates beautiful canyon near the lake. there are three nearby lakes: Didgalish Tob, Kalalish Toba and Tsakatskarish Toba.
Ushguli is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe.Recognized as the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage Site.
